With an ever-increasing roster of talented acts in his portfolio, and an ear to the ground for the newest indie underdogs, Justin Dylan Renney's 15-year shooting spree has captured an impressive collection of creatively planned portraits, as well as the vigorously-pursued action shots of some of rock’s recent greatest moments. Justin’s instinct and timing allow him to anticipate the most powerful moments in a performance, and give his photos a true sense of urgency that communicates the emotion of a performance. From the Spiritualized print which hangs above the main entry of Seattle's Showbox Theater, to his vibrant and memorable images from all over the country, Justin's compelling pictures include performances from the likes of Beck, The Killers, The Bravery, Interpol, The Flaming Lips, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, Radiohead, The Strokes, Public Enemy, Ladytron, Built To Spill, Sonic Youth and numerous others. Immersed in all facets of the music scene, Justin has shot editorial assignments for top magazines (Rolling Stone, Spin, Blender, Paste, The Stranger, Seattle Weekly), work has appeared in (Alternative Press, Esquire, Q, Uncut, Timeout) shot promotioal work for labels, (Epic, Columbia, Interscope, Barsuk, Loveless), as well as worked with artists (The Black Angels, Death Cab For Cutie, The Donnas, Modest Mouse, Brandi Carlile, Schoolyard Heroes, The Lashes and The Blakes to name a few). His future will include documenting tours what happens on stage as well as behind the scenes, shooting music videos, and finding a way to travel back in time to 1987 where he will proceed to photograph Def Leppard and Duran Duran a lot.
